When someone joins, an email will be sent to all SuperAdmins on the site. One of them should then do the following: 1. Send a canned personal email to the new member asking them for whatever basic contact info you want to require for free membership. e.g., Website, Employer/Business Name, Industry Type... In doing this you will a) meet the person b) confirm they are a viable member and c) gather the information you need to build your contact database 2, When they have been approved, og into the backend and change their user type to AUTHOR. 3. Go to Components>Contacts and add the information you want to store in the system. Link the user to the contact (it's a field in the contact form) so you have a way to connect users to contacts. This use of Contacts is an optional step. It's only suggested as this keeps all of your member data in one online location. |
